Friday, 6 October 2017 - Sunday, 8 October 2017
Begin: 6 October 2017, 18:00
End: 8 October 2017, after breakfast

Explore the centre of Bavaria: Munich, the largest city in the south of Germany and one of Germany’s most historic cities. A trip around Munich’s historic places conveys an impression of the entire history of the city. Extensively damaged in World War II, the historic old buildings were lovingly reconstructed so that the buildings in the old town still look the same as they did 200 years ago. Munich is also home of the well-known “Oktoberfest”, which attracts thousands of national and international guests every year.

A stop will be the Psychiatric Hospital of the Ludwig-Maximilians University (LMU) Munich. You will see the historical building complex and get to know its history. Lectures by Prof. Dr. Peter Falkai, Prof. Dr. Oliver Pogarell and Dr. Robert Perneczky will make the visit entertaining and informative.

Afterwards you will see the highlights of Munich during a 2-hour city tour by bus. This tour will take you to the Königsplatz and past the famous art museums Lenbachhaus, Old and New Pinakothek and Pinakothek der Moderne. The tour will then continue to the former students’ and artists’ quarter. You will drive along the magnificent avenues Ludwigstrasse and Prinzregentenstrasse, as well as the fashionable Maximilianstrasse. The historic part of the city is filled with famous places, such as the Hofbräuhaus restaurant, the medieval city gates Isartor and Sendlinger Tor and the open-air market, the Viktualienmarkt
